A humorous nineteenth-century novel narrating the childhood of Solomon Seesaw, with detailed descriptions of rural Scotland and Wales.
Written by early nineteenth-century Scottish writer and merchant, John Parish Robertson.
Including eight plates illustrated by Phiz, or Hablot Knight Browne, a prominent Victorian artist who completed numerous illustrations for Charles Dickens, Charles Lever, Charles Ainsworth, and more. Collated, complete.
CONDITION
Bound in the publishers original cloth. Externally sound, with slight bumping and rubbing to the extremities. Front boards tender to I and III, with joints split and boards may detach with further handling. Small splits to cloth at the joints with hinges strained. A little fraying to the cloth at the head and tail of the spine. The odd mark to cloth and pencil mark to endpapers. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages bright and clean, with only the occasional handling mark.
