A fascinating historical fiction novel set in the sixteenth century, during the reign of Charles V. This novel follows his son, Philip II, as he is sent on a voyage to Yucatan after disgracing the daughter of the Kings favourite minister. He meets and falls in love with Inex Pizarro, entering into a morganatic marriage with her.
An interesting and dramatised look at the youth of Philip, ending with his marriage to Mary I of England in 1554.

CONDITION
In the original publishers cloth binding. Externally, generally smart, with light rubbing to the spine and extremities. Spine is a little faded. A few minor marks to the boards and spine. Light bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Hinges are starting. Internally, binding is a little strained in places. Pages are a little age-toned and clean.
